Athletics Prediction Contests (32nd edition)

For the 18th World Athletics Championships
Eugene, Oregon Friday 15 - 24 July 2022

Contest 1: Predict all the medal winners.
Contest 2: Predict the 20 biggest favorites in Oregon.
As usual no entrance fee and the traditional money prizes.

In Eugene we had again 49 events, the long Race Walking for women is back. Just like in Doha 2019.
For the first time there will be 35km Race Walking instead of 50km..

Winner of the 2022 Top3 Contest with 210 participants is Palmiro Candreva from Italy.
Second Pattrick Secchi from France and third David Donley from the USA.

Winner of the 2022 Pick20 Contest with 188 participants is Michael Stebbins
Second Ivan Stanko and third Pat Crandall all three from the USA.

Congratulations to all. Eternal fame for Palmiro and Michael. Palmiro also predicted 8 events perfectly. A new record.
He took the lead after event 7 with such a lead that first place was never compromised again.
In the pick20 contest you have to look not only on the actual score but also at the target score to evaluate the final
result. Michael took the lead in event 48 on the last day, with Kate Mammet leading for most of the days.
Overall, we are a community with an unparalleled understanding of elite sport performance across the board.
And together we reflected the wisdom of the insiders crowd in the Most Chosen entry.
For the first time only one participant could beat this entry that finished 2nd (improving from 5th of 2011).
In the Pick20 contest the Most Chosen entry didn't impress so far.

The Updated all time Top3 and Pick20 rankings (default based on Average Percent Rank)
are lead by Oliver Garner and Joaquãn Carmona Torre.

This was Palmiro's 4th entry, he needs another one to get on the list by default. Oliver finished in 24th place this time.
No new leaders. In Top3 Gustavo Candelas jumped from 4th to 2nd and in Pick20 Ivan Stanko jumped from 5th to 3rd.
